Responsible Gaming

Responsible Gambling at Pokiesurf

At Pokiesurf, our priority is to promote a safe and enjoyable gaming environment for all our players. We understand that playing pokies is a thrilling experience, and we aim to ensure it stays that way by helping you maintain control over your gaming habits. Responsible gambling means making informed choices and being aware of your behaviours while playing. We actively support this by equipping you with essential resources and tools available on our platform to assist you in gambling responsibly.

Our Commitment to Safer Gambling

Your wellbeing is paramount to us. This commitment drives us to implement a range of safer-gambling tools that are specifically designed to assist you in managing your gameplay effectively. We understand that there may be times when gambling starts to have a negative impact on your life. In such cases, we encourage you to use the tools provided and seek support, ensuring that help is never far away.

Setting Limits: Deposit, Loss and Time

The importance of setting personal financial and time limits cannot be overstated. At Pokiesurf, you have the facility to impose daily, weekly, or monthly caps on deposits, losses, and playing time. These constraints serve as a guide to help manage your budget and maintain a balance in your gambling activity, preventing excessive spending or time loss. Here’s how you can set these limits:

• Deposit Limits: By setting a maximum deposit limit, you are effectively creating a budget. This precaution empowers you to enjoy playing while safeguarding your financial resources.
• Loss Limits: Define a cap on the amount you're willing to lose within a given period. This helps mitigate potential losses during less fortunate gaming sessions and keeps gameplay controlled.
• Time Limits: It's easy to lose track of time when engaged in a game. Establish time boundaries to ensure that your gambling does not overshadow other important responsibilities or personal time.

Reality Checks

Time can fly by quickly when you’re immersed in the excitement of pokies. Reality check notifications at Pokiesurf serve as periodic reminders of how long you have been playing. These alerts help you pause, reflect, and evaluate your gaming session and decide whether it's time to take a break or continue with mindfulness. This feature encourages you to engage in gambling with awareness, promoting healthier gaming habits.

Self-Exclusion Options

Sometimes, taking a longer break from gambling is the best decision. Self-exclusion is a powerful tool that offers you the possibility to take a timeout from Pokiesurf for a specified duration, ranging from a few days to a permanent break from gambling on the platform. During the self-exclusion period, your account will be inaccessible to ensure you cannot participate in any form of gambling activities. This option is there to provide peace of mind and is especially beneficial for those who feel they need a complete break from the thrill of betting.

Recognising Problem Gambling

Identifying problem gambling can be challenging, as it often creeps in gradually. Being cognizant of the signs is crucial for taking action early. Here are some indicators to watch for in both yourself and others:

• Chasing losses and driven by a need to win back lost money.
• Overextending your financial capabilities to fund gambling activities.
• Letting gambling interfere and overshadow professional, family, or educational responsibilities.
• Feeling compelled to gamble despite a strong desire to stop or reduce the activity.
• Experiencing stress or mood disturbances related to your gambling habits.
• Deceiving loved ones about the extent of your gambling activities or financial losses.

Recognising these signs early on enables you to seek the necessary support before gambling affects your relationships, financial standing, and overall wellbeing.

Understanding the Importance of 18+

Pokiesurf strictly adheres to legal requirements that stipulate all players must be aged 18 or over. To prevent minors from accessing our platform and engaging in gambling activities, we have robust measures in place. Should you have shared use of devices with those under 18, ensure that your online accounts are safeguarded with secure passwords, and always log out after use.

We urge parents and guardians to be active participants in the oversight of minors' online activities. There are numerous third-party applications that can block access to gambling websites, helping to keep young family members safe online.
